Hey everyone, my name is Rehan and I'm a first-year maths student. If you're also in first-year then I'm sure we have spoken at some point but I'm very excited to represent and make positive changes for everyone in the maths department. I've loved my time at imperial so far, even if the maths can suck sometimes, because I'm surrounded by some truly incredible people and I want everyone to have as positive an experience as I have had.
As vice president I would love to oversee the progression of our current traditions and the establishment of some new ones. I think we can all agree that the social scene in maths can be lacking in places and so I will be planning to organise inter-departmental football and christmas and summer dinners. As well as this I'd make sure we have ample networking events and careers opportunities throughout the year in order to help pay off those student loans (international students my heart goes out to you!). Weekly I'd organise other fun and inclusive activities such as films, games nights and trips with as much FREE FOOD as possible!
I'm very easy to get a hold of (probably just scroll up a few lines on the whatsapp chat) and love chatting with people about whatever interests them and whatever they want to see mathssoc do next.
