Angelica Zhang
Having fenced for eight years and competed in different countries, I’ve experienced how fencing brings people together across cultures, backgrounds, and levels of experience. I’d love to bring this perspective to the society and help make our fencing community even stronger.
As Vice President, my main priority is to support the President and ensure that our society runs smoothly, both on and off the piste. I aim to take an active role in organising society events, arranging friendlies with other universities, and coordinating accommodation and transportation for BUCS competitions, so our members can focus on what matters most: fencing and enjoying the experience.
Having fenced internationally, I understand how different fencing environments and cultures can enrich the sport. I hope to bring this experience into building connections with other universities, creating more opportunities for friendly competition, and fostering a welcoming environment for fencers of all abilities.
Ultimately, I want to be a reliable, approachable, and proactive Vice President who helps turn ideas into action. Whether it’s organising a competition trip, planning a social, or supporting the committee behind the scenes, I’m ready to put in the work to make our society a place where everyone can improve, compete, and feel part of a team.
