Danny Thieu
When I think about the best society events, I don’t really remember the room, the decorations or even what was planned. I remember the people I met, the conversations that carried on afterwards, and the feeling that I had found somewhere I wanted to come back to.
That is the kind of Vietnamese Society I want to help create.
Starting university can sometimes feel like walking into a room where everyone already knows each other. One good event can completely change that. It can turn strangers into friends, give someone a reason to come back next week, and slowly turn a society into a genuine community.
That is why I’m running for Events Officer. I want our events to be more than something we attend for a few hours. I want them to become the moments people remember when they look back at their time at Imperial — from the big cultural celebrations to the random social where you unexpectedly meet some of your closest friends.
I want to help create a VietSoc where it never feels difficult to show up, even if you come alone.
If we can create those moments for each other, then the events will take care of themselves.
Vote Danny for Events Officer. Come for the event, stay for the people.
