Yacine Driss
Hi! I'm Yacine Driss, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student at Imperial College London.
One of the things I enjoyed most about being involved in my high school's Medical Department, where I was a founding co-president, was helping organise a healthcare forum that brought together over 15 healthcare professionals. I liked the idea of giving students the chance to hear directly from people in the field, ask questions and discover career paths they might never have considered.
That's also what attracts me to Healthcare Strategy & Policy. I think students should have opportunities to look beyond their lectures and understand how healthcare works in practice, from the people delivering care to those shaping its future.
As External Relations Officer, I'd love to help make those connections happen. I'd like to reach out to professionals, explore potential collaborations and help bring speakers with different backgrounds and perspectives to the society. I'd also want to make sure that our events give students something valuable to take away, whether that's a new perspective on the healthcare system or inspiration for their own careers.
Having already helped organise an event involving healthcare professionals, I know how valuable these exchanges can be. I'd love to build on that experience at Imperial, meet people working across the sector and help create opportunities for other students to do the same.
