Elliot Baxter

Hello everyone, my name is Elliot and I would love to be your events officer

I have just spent the year at the University of Edinburgh where I started to get involved with the 93% club and fell in love with the work that you all do! Coming from a state school just outside of Bristol, I always felt a sort of unbelonging at Imperial, people would ask me what school I went to and I would answer ‘you won’t have heard of it’, knowing that changed what they thought of me immediately. No one should feel like this and it’s great that we now have a place where we don’t have to.

I have experience with the organisational side from being performance officer for ICSM Dance. For this role, I organised the ICSM arts winter showcase (inaugural) and a tour for competition. I had to talk to many different people from different societies as well as convincing Union to let me use their space.

I have also been Secretary for ICSM Light Opera, where I sent lots of emails and did lots of risk assessments.

Within this role, I would create a welcoming environment for everyone to share their ideas for events whilst being proactive to make sure everything happens on time. I would be grateful to all of you for considering my manifesto

Elliot :)
