Florence Babatope

I'm Florence, a first-year Mathematics with Statistics for Finance student, and I'm running for Head of Markets.

During my internship at TD Securities, I analysed equities, fixed income, FX and commodities, which developed my interest in how markets respond to new information. As Head of Markets, I want to build on this by exploring how technology is changing the way markets function, while making these topics accessible to members with any level of experience.

If elected, I would:

• Run regular market briefings covering major developments across traditional and digital asset markets, focusing on what is driving them and why they matter.
• Explore the intersection of markets and emerging technology
• Organise interactive trading and investment challenges, giving members the opportunity to form a thesis, respond to new information and test their decision-making.
• Host practitioners across both traditional finance and FinTech, including traders, quantitative researchers and people building financial technology, with discussions centred on substantive market themes rather than generic careers advice.
• Make Markets accessible, with introductory sessions giving members the foundations to confidently engage with more technical events.

I want to help members understand how technology is changing the way financial markets work.
