Hello, I'm Zainab Hussain, and I'm runnning to be your Social Officer.
With the rise of digital media, it's vital for a successful society to communicate with both members and onlookers in unique and effective ways. Growing up in a multicultural environment has made me interested in global health and the challenges associated with accessing it - e.g., the effects of war in Gaza and Ukraine, or how severe poverty can cause lack of access. Ultimately, our most powerful tool in increasing global health equity is educating ourselves on global problems and what we can do to help, especially in SfGH events - which rely on the digital media to be promoted.
My main introduction to marketing was my GCSE Media Studies course (I achieved an 8), which taught me both theoretical and practical principles behind effective multi-media content creation (e.g. print vs audio-visual). Since then, I've developed these skills in a variety of different situations: creating adverts for school plays, enterprise competitions, and even a psychology video competition etc. If I became your Social Officer, I would use these skills to ensure that this society's events would be advertised in unique, engaging ways to boost its audience.
