Yveline Liu
Hi everyone!!
I'm Yveline, from Paris, France. I'm a second-year Chemical Engineering student, and I'm running for Sponsorship Manager.
I really enjoy being part of Women in SET because it not only offers many opportunities, such as networking sessions, career fairs, insight days, and panel discussions, but also helps members connect with each other through socials. Sponsorship plays a big part in this, and I’d love to help the society grow by securing the funding that makes these events possible.
I have direct experience in this area. I secured sponsors for robotics competitions at my school in Paris. This taught me how to approach companies, explain what they gain from getting involved, and turn a conversation into a partnership. I’m also comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences, which will help in explaining the society’s value to sponsors from any background. I regularly attend networking sessions, where I seek advice, learn from professionals, and keep improving my skills.
As Sponsorship Manager, I’d like to keep working with our current sponsors and strengthen those relationships, while also bringing in new ones. More funding means more opportunities, so the society can organise bigger events and launch new initiatives throughout the year and in the years to come.
Thank you very much for reading! I hope to have the opportunity to work with the team and earn your trust as your new Sponsorship Manager!
