Annie Yang
Hi, I’m Annie, and I’d love to be your Vice President.
I’ve been playing piano since I was four, and classical music has been part of my life ever since. I also love soundtracks, because they show how classical writing carries over into the music we hear every day. That mix is what I’d like to bring to Chamber Music: a society for serious players and curious listeners alike.
I’ve been part of Chamber Music for years and served as Vice President before, so I know both what makes this society special and what it takes to run it well. Chamber music works because people make it together, and that is the spirit I want to protect and grow.
What I’ll focus on:
Making it easy to play. Whether you’re a seasoned player or picking up your instrument again after a break, you should be able to find a group that fits your level and your schedule. I’ll work to make group formation simpler and more welcoming, especially for newcomers.
Making rehearsals and concerts run smoothly. Booking rooms and organising performances should never get in the way of the music.
Building a community beyond rehearsals. Socials, concerts and informal play-throughs help members meet people outside their own ensemble, and they keep the society thriving year after year.
If you want a Vice President who knows the society inside out and cares about making it better for everyone, I’d be grateful for your vote.
