Across campuses, for every PGR student
I am Bin Liu (Ban Lau), 2nd-year Chemistry PhD. I am standing for RCSU: Vice President (Postgraduate Research) because I want you to feel heard, included, and genuinely connected, wherever you are based.
FoNS stretches across White City, South Kensington, Silwood Park, and beyond. This diversity is our strength, but it can also leave students feeling disconnected from one another, less aware of opportunities, and unsure how to raise concerns or access support. I want to help build a stronger and more united PGR community across campuses, no one feels overlooked, isolated or left behind.
If elected, I will focus on three clear priorities.
First, I want representation to be more visible and approachable, so you know who to talk to and feel comfortable speaking up.
Second, I want to strengthen cross-campus connections by working with departmental representatives and committees to build on activities that already bring students together. This could include opening up existing departmental socials, such as Friday drinks, to wider PGR participation, and exploring inter-department activities such as informal coffee chats, friendly sports events, or shared wellbeing sessions like yoga.
Third, I want to improve the signposting of support and development opportunities, so you can access what you need more easily.
I will also work closely with the President, VP (Education), and VP (Welfare&Wellbing), and other RCSU officers to make sure PGR concerns are heard and followed up effectively.
Vote Bin Liu for connection, community, and a stronger PGR voice.
