Yasmine Majdalani

My name is Yasmine, I'm a second year Materials student (obviously) and I'm running for Wellbeing Rep this year!

For those who don't know me: I'm Lebanese, (born and raised), but I lived in France for all of high school. I love art just as much as science, and I enjoy reading, baking, and going out with my friends, amongst other things.

I'm running this year because I understand that sometimes this degree and university can feel overwhelming and impossible, especially when outside stressors are factored in. I'd like to be your Wellbeing Rep to hopefully make everyone feel heard and seen: I want you all to be able to share your thoughts and concerns so I can relay them to the appropriate parties.

No matter how difficult it feels at times, university is supposed to not only be a foundation for our careers, but also a place where new connections are formed, new hobbies are explored, and an opportunity to be yourself and feel supported and seen by your peers, and that's the kind of environment I'd like to foster.

We all know that being well promotes performing well. I know I might not be able to fix every issue, but I will take all of your concerns seriously and try my hardest to make them right.
