Being Wellbeing Rep has been a busy, busy role.
Biweekly meetings with JMC reps and the DoC Wellbeing team. Planning events. Regular cohort check-ins. And most importantly, organising JMC Drinks with Sam.
Last year, we:
- Got several coursework deadlines extended
- Took your course feedback to the department
- Pointed JMCs who needed wellbeing help to the right places
- Started trialling maths tutor sessions, which I'm aiming to make regular this year
But Year 2 gets busier and harder. 21 modules, up from 7. Three times the clashes. If your module's getting screwed on timings, you don't want a rep who's too busy to help.
Good news: I've got nothing else on. This is what I live and breathe for. I will ALWAYS make time for you.
Look at the other candidates and ask yourself if they'll really have time for you. Some JMCs are ridiculously busy. Not naming names.
Me? My life is as barren as it gets.
Societyless.
Jobless.
Girlless.
Plus no adjustment period. You don't want to wait months for your rep to figure out who to contact for a pressing issue, especially with Year 2 stress. I'm somebody who already knows the wellbeing department inside out, so you won't be waiting on me.
I guarantee I'll have time for every single one of you.
Just like last year, my DMs are always open, whether you're stressed about a module, confused about course structure, or just want a chat. This year, we'll need that more than ever.
I'm counting on your vote.
You know what to do.
