As a Wellbeing Representative for Year 1 students, I want to help create a supportive, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and heard. Starting university can be exciting but also challenging, and I understand the pressures of balancing academic, social, and personal responsibilities. I would act as a friendly and approachable point of contact, promoting wellbeing resources, encouraging open conversations about mental health, and gathering student feedback to ensure concerns are addressed. I would organise community-building activities, foster peer support, and advocate for initiatives that reduce stress and improve student experience, helping everyone thrive throughout their first year. I want to help build a year group where asking for support feels normal, not intimidating.
