Bioengineering (UG): Year One Academic Representative (Molecular Bioengineering)

Hey everybody! I’m Kyle, I’m from Hong Kong, and I’d love to be your Year One Bioengineering Academic Representative for the coming year.

As your year one department representative, my main goals would be:

  • Prioritising your learning exprience by continuously receiving and collating student feedback, adjusting accordingly with the rest of the team to represent your best interests

  • Being transparent throughout the entire process whether it be receiving and raising a student's issue with the team, or communicating information and relevant policies to all

  • Dutifully carrying out and supporting the positive systems set forth by previous department representatives

I think that I bring a diverse set of skills and experiences that suits this role well. Previously, I have served as the secretary within my school’s UNICEF club, as well as the vice-head boy of my school. Through these roles I have developed my organisational skills and had plenty of experience communicating information both down the chain from academic staff, as well as up the chain from the student body. I believe that I can be both a dependant and approachable representative that maintains stable communication with all. I'll usually be around on campus or at the very least available online, so if you have any ideas for improving the academic experience within the department, please give me a shout!
