Maya Halawi

Hi, I’m Maya, and I’d like to be your BioEng class rep.

BioEng covers a lot: biomaterials, biomechanics, probabilities, medical imaging, and more. That means a lot of different workloads and a lot of things that can slip through the cracks. I want to make sure your feedback actually reaches the people who can change things.

What I’ll do:

• Make feedback easy. A short anonymous form each term, with the results and the department’s responses shared back with everyone.
• Flag clashes early. Keep an eye on deadline pile-ups across modules and raise them with staff before they hit.
• Connect years. Gather advice from older years on tough modules and projects, and share it in one place.
• Be approachable. Message me anytime, whether it’s a complaint, a question about who to ask, or something that’s working well.

I’m happy working across lab, lecture and project settings, so I know how different the pressures can feel through the year.
