Having spent three years as a student representative, two years as a Peer Assisted Learning Leader, and serving as Vice-President of the Robotics Society last year, I have developed a strong understanding of what it means to listen to, support and represent students.
I want to help make our Human and Biological Robotics cohort a friendly, supportive and connected community. An MSc can be demanding, so I believe strong relationships between coursemates and having someone approachable to turn to can make a real difference.
If elected, I will focus on three things:
Listening to everyone: I want every student to feel comfortable sharing their opinions, concerns and ideas. I will make sure feedback is communicated fairly, including the voices of those who may be less comfortable speaking up.
Building our community: I will encourage opportunities for us to get to know each other beyond lectures and labs, creating a welcoming environment where coursemates can support one another.
Being approachable and helpful: My experience as a Peer Assisted Learning Leader has taught me how important it is to be someone others feel comfortable approaching. Whether you have a concern, need help finding support or simply want someone to listen, I will do my best to help.
I cannot promise every suggestion will be possible, but I can promise to listen, represent you honestly and take your feedback seriously.
