Hi everyone! Im John ：）I believe a positive academic experience is about more than achieving good grades. Clear communication, constructive feedback and having our concerns heard are all important parts of learning at university.

As first-year Medical Biosciences students at Imperial, we're adapting to a course thats very different compare to what we do in high schools. The transition involves not only learning new scientific concepts, but also adjusting to different teaching methods, laboratory work and the expectations of independent study. I understand that this adjustment takes time and that we may have different academic concerns and learning needs.

If elected, I'd aim to:

• Listen and represent: Gather your feedback on lectures, coursework, assessments and practical sessions, and communicate it to the relevant staff.

• Improve communication: Help ensure important academic information, deadlines and changes are communicated clearly.

• Follow up on concerns: Raise recurring issues with staff and seek constructive solutions, keeping students informed where possible.

• Represent everyone: Make sure different perspectives are heard, including those who may feel less comfortable speaking up.

I'd value the opportunity to represent our cohort, listen to your experiences and work with students and staff to help make our academic experience as positive as possible.
