Hi everyone! I’m Asude:) I’m from Istanbul, Turkey, and I’m running to be your Year 1 Academic Rep. I want us all to feel supported, understand what we’re learning, and feel prepared and confident for the assessments.
First, you'll know what happens to your feedback. Reps collect comments all year, but you don’t always hear what happens afterwards. I’ll share regular updates through email or our year group chat, listing what was raised, what changed, and what couldn’t change and why.
Second, everyone’s opinion matters, but not everyone finds it easy to speak up. I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to share their ideas and help shape our academic experience. You can give feedback anonymously through a form that stays open all year, or come to me directly, in person or by message, at any time.
Third, I will organise study and revision sessions for complex topics like statistics and CBI, and ask our lecturers for extra review sessions, especially on the topics we find hardest.
Fourth, I want to support you not only academically, but also as you think about your future. If you would like to hear from older students about their module choices and career paths, or from a keynote speaker such as a scientist or doctor, tell me through the form or in person. I will pass your ideas on and try my best to make them happen.
