Justin Nakamura

International Students Network Member

Hi, I'm Justin Nakamura, a second-year Mechanical Engineering student. Having grown up in Japan and studied in both Japan and the UK, I understand some of the challenges of adapting to a new country and finding a sense of belonging.

As your International Students Network Member, I would focus on three things:

Building connections: Organise more affordable, relaxed social events that bring international and home students together, beyond Freshers' Week.
Making support accessible: Improve awareness of resources for accommodation, visas, finances and wellbeing, so students know where to turn when they need help.
Making your voices heard: Listen to students from different backgrounds, raise their concerns with the Union and College, and communicate what is being done.

I want Imperial to be somewhere international students don't just study, but genuinely feel at home.
