Alexandru Luta
I want to continue being a representative at university because I have the necessary experience to excel in this role.
Having served as course representative for three years and aeronautics department president in my first year at the University of Southampton, I have had the pleasure to contribute to the many changes that students enjoy to date. Some of these (significant ones) are; revision of exam timetables; reasonable assessment techniques; changes to course structure, which have taken place over the time that Southampton rose from 4th to a 2nd place ranking for Aeronautics in the UK. Aside from these formal changes, I earned the academic award for ‘best consulting’, which serves as a testament to the dedication and approachability my peers feel I have when it comes to sorting out their troubles. I fostered this trust by acting as a first point of contact for personal, academic and career related worries, which I will continue to be here for you. I wish not only this, but also to carry on bringing to light ‘in the know’ career opportunities to the student body so that success at imperial will continue. Co-hosting department meetings developed my ability to debate and persuade which helped me become the authoritative figure that makes change happen.
At Imperial, I will continue to be that reliable bridge between you and the department so that your needs reach the right people quickly, that you may remember this MSc as one that cared about you. Thank you.
