Hi everyone! I’m Firas and I’m looking to become your postgraduate representative in the Department of Aeronautics.
I previously did a bachelor’s degree in aerospace, and I understand how hectic our schedule can get throughout the year. And as a result, other aspects of our lives take a significant toll trying to keep up with everything that’s going on. Hence, I’ve launched my campaign based on mainly three objectives.
Wellbeing and support
As people may have noticed, our department lacks a wellbeing officer at postgraduate level. Thus, I want to be the one liaising wellbeing workshops. This could be in the form of social events throughout the year or just a chat in our study room between lectures.
Project Allocation
A key issue with the project lists this year has been the lack of balance between experimental and computational projects. Although this may not change for our cohort, I want to help relay feedback about this disparity back to the board for future batches.
Improve academic experience
If assignment instructions seem unclear, your examination was marked disproportionately or your study space was left damaged and unsanitary, I’ll be your first point of contact to raise, follow-up and resolve your issue.
