I believe that engineering is all about making things happen. I aim to bring that spirit to CGCU. Going to University is not only about the learning but also about the people that you meet and memories you create.
As Events Officer, I aim to make CGCU the place where people can come together, whether freshers or those making the most of their final year.
My ideas for CGCU include:
The Engineering Cup: An annual interdepartmental competition with a variety of events to test both knowledge and teamwork between the different disciplines of engineering that runs all year.
The Great CGCU Mix-Up: all CGCU students are randomly assigned to a team of students from different engineering disciplines and years, play a series of challenges against other teams and spend the night with the people on your team. You don't have to have a pre-existing friend group to join!
The CGCU Passport: every student can have a passport and gain stamps for every free social event they attend throughout the year. In doing so, they can unlock prizes and the chance to go into a prize draw for exclusive CGCU merchandise. This encourages people to attend more socials and is a way of getting people involved, from those who may want a full schedule to those who would prefer a quieter night out.
I want CGCU events to be something students look forward to and can be excited about. Let's create some unforgettable memories for Imperial Engineering together!
