Shi Tang

Hi everyone! My name is Shi Tang. I’m standing for CGCU Events Officer because I would like to help organise well-run and enjoyable events for the engineering community.

I have relevant experience in both event organisation and public speaking. In high school, I served as a Student Union Manager and was responsible for an IC alumni association. I helped organise events such as our Halloween celebration and hosted large-scale school activities. Through these experiences, I learned how to coordinate with different people, prepare schedules, communicate with guests and participants, manage practical details and respond calmly when unexpected problems arise.

As Events Officer, I would support the organisation of activities across the Faculty of Engineering. These could include alumni talks where graduates share their academic and career experiences, networking sessions, panel discussions and other meetings or community events. I would work closely with the committee, university staff, student societies, speakers and volunteers to help each event run smoothly from preparation to delivery.

I am responsible, organised and comfortable communicating with both individuals and large audiences. Most importantly, I am willing to do the practical work behind every successful event.

I hope to use my previous experience to support CGCU and help deliver valuable and memorable events for engineering students.
