Ethan Lim

Hello!

My name is Ethan and I would like to be your academic student representative for the 2nd year. After enjoying a good first year with this department, there are some improvements I think could be made to better facilitate all of our learning.

I would like to see clearer and more concise feedback on the past year papers. Currently many of the exam commentaries have vague and unhelpful comments, incorrectly labelled questions and are sometimes missing altogether! As the academic rep I would reach out to the relevant professors and get these mistakes rectified, or possibly get a higher quality version uploaded for us. If possible, I would like to work towards a marking scheme being published.

I would also try to create more avenues of dialogue between us and the professors in (or beyond!) the department. This way, more of us could find potential connections and/or UROP oppurtunities. I could also help to connect you with seniors who have done UROPS in the past to give some insight into the entire process.

All in all, I would be very grateful if you voted for me as your academic rep! I look forward to being able to help everyone out.
