Anlan Gai

Hi guys, I’m Anlan Gai. Some of you may know me as Annie.

As a fellow computing first year, I understand how stressful this course can be, especially with so much content being thrown at our faces during lectures.

I want all our voices to be heard, all our feedback, suggestions, and complaints to be reviewed and acted upon. As the academic representative, I will ensure that you aren’t just shouting into the void, that your opinions are being acknowledged rather than thrown off to the side. I plan to take in feedback regularly through online forms and address your concerns with lecturers. Of course, you could also contact me directly via email, or even in person if you run into me. Through this, we will find a solution to our problems together.

Having spoken to many of you in my first few weeks, I’ve noticed numerous comments on how fast paced this course is, with a few people feeling like they’ve been thrown into the deep end. I don’t want anyone to feel like this, which is why I’m resolved to make sure that everyone has access to the help they need, and that everyone knows where to go for academic support.

I might not understand discrete maths but I do understand your struggles. Vote for me and I’ll make sure your complaints actually go somewhere instead of staying within your friend group!
