Civil & Environmental Engineering (UG): Year Two Academic Representative

Dear Class of 2029,

After a nice summer recharge (and an extra star on our chest), it would be a great pleasure to be your academic rep for another year. Last year, we were affected by strikes, decisions by a certain lecturer, and incidents during exams, which I hope were resolved properly according to your criteria. For this year, I aspire to maintain the same standards as last year while improving my work in other areas. Here are my proposals:

- Maintain the Teams group chat to make announcements and keep one-on-one communication easy and accessible.

- Create more opportunities with the department to improve our understanding using software like REVIT, BIM, and AutoCAD (Either in Comp Methods, GTA Workshops, etc.)

- Foster collaboration with CivSoc and the Department to have at least one site visit to some of the big engineering firms (to offer more opportunities like HS2 last year)

- Work with the department to improve our building's infrastructure (e.g., more water stations) and introduce a form where you can suggest additions or report malfunctions.

- Defend and communicate all your interests and maintain your anonymity if asked.

- Push the department to use our tuition in relevant things that actually benefit us.

- Listen to your suggestions and act on them wherever possible.

I appreciate the trust put in me and will do my best to represent all parties. Feel free to contact me regardless of the outcome of the elections.
