Alina Li
My name is Alina Li, and I would be honoured to serve as Entrepreneurs Vice President.
As a Chemistry student at Imperial and an incoming FICC and Equities Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs, with prior experience across hedge funds, asset management and sales & trading, I understand both the commercial and financial sides of building something meaningful. Beyond finance, I have also been running my own online merchandise business since 2016, managing product selection, suppliers, marketing, customer service and repeat customer growth, including adapting product strategy during COVID as customer demand shifted.
Imperial is full of STEM students with exciting ideas, from biotech and chemistry to engineering, AI and climate solutions. However, many students know the technical side of their ideas far better than the commercial side. If elected, I would focus on helping members turn ideas into practical, fundable and customer-focused ventures through three initiatives:
1. Founder Skills Workshops
Sessions on idea validation, market sizing, customer acquisition, branding, pitching and basic financial planning.
2. STEM Founder Speaker Series
Invite Imperial student founders, alumni entrepreneurs, start-up operators and early-stage investors to share honest lessons on building, failing, fundraising and scaling.
3. Pitch & Feedback Nights
Regular informal sessions where students can present ideas, receive feedback and meet potential co-founders in a low-pressure environment.
My goal is to make entrepreneurship feel more actionable, especially for STEM students who want to commercialise their ideas but do not know where to start.
Vote for me to build a more practical and founder-friendly entrepreneurship community.
