Hey! Most of you will know me as the current inter contemp director which I have had a great time doing in dance company. I would love to choreograph advance contemp for the first time next year, as I will be allowed to add new lifts and technical components that the inter category doesnt allow.

My concept for the dance focuses on being separated from your home or community, which is a feeling that can show up in so many different ways. I really want to play with formations and layering moves to create visual impact, this time going for a heartbreaking and devastating emotion. I want to split the costumes for dancers in half with two different colours to show the different groups of people, and the story of the dance will be the two "sides" both trying to get back to eachother and never quite making it, until the final climax at the end when maybe they will....

The song is "if I get high" by nothing but theives if you are familiar or want to give it a listen! In tradition for me I have a rough plan for the whole choreo but I'm sure it will change with time and end up looking completely different. I hope I've shown that I can choreograph and manage a team well and I would love to make some judges cry with this piece at next year's comps!! <3
