Carol Chen

I am a seasoned hiker with a staggering 100% survival rate on all previous hiking expeditions I have ever embarked on. To put that statistic into context for those of you taking life sciences/business-related courses, that's the same rate as a number of the most well-respected professional outdoors people, including Edmund Hillary, Steve Backshall, Timothy Mayoh and more.

I am also a seasoned leader, leading the Eagles scout patrol to an easy victory at our 2015 summer camp, and beating out a plethora of highly-competent patrols from troops all across the country in all categories but chicken-pie making (apologies to all the unfortunate victims of food poisoning).

I have extensive experience with using walkie-talkies, and am a capable first-aider so long as there is no visible blood or injury in general, in which case I occasionally become squeamish/pass out.

I believe I would bring to this role, and indeed the wider committee, some much needed ethnic diversity due to my asian-chinese heritage.

Finally, one may assume that I'm only running for the role of Hike Leader to gain access to the committee OS Maps account. I am here to put those rumous to rest: having already obtained access to said account, one can only conclude that I truly hold a deep passion for hiking and am running for this role for purely charitable motives.
