Aleeza Ahmed

Hello!

I'm Aleeza and I'm running to be your Events Officer for the upcoming year. I've worked in the Arm Electrical team this year so I've got to know some of you, but I would love to get to know more people next year.

Ideas:

- Arrange and run more social events in the year like dinners, lunches or group activities so people across teams can meet more often. These would be voted on by you.

- I really enjoyed showcasing our work at the Great Exhibition Road Festival so I would love to be able to set up more opportunies for us to talk about prosthetics to the public and demonstrate what we've achieved so far.

- Arrange more workshop events for people new to the society (and those who want to brush up on their skills) from industry experts or more experienced team members. There was a CAD workshop this year, but I would want to expand the workshops to cover more areas.

- Have more industry talks from companies involved with prosthetics but also aligning fields like biomaterials.

Previous Experience:

As Head of my school's Maths Society, I hosted a national competition, as well as running in-school events. I was also Head of Media for my school's Computer Science Society and publicised talks run by the society and created events highlights for the rest of the school. As an ambassador of a Medics' Conference, which involved international speakers, I helped to ensure the conference's logistics ran smoothly.
