STEM Muslims Society: Vice President of Outreach

As salamu Alaykum,

My name is Javeria, and I am running to be the next Vice President of Outreach for STEM Muslims, insha'Allah.

As a Fresher Rep, I have had the opportunity to work within the Outreach stream, helping deliver initiatives that engage and inspire young Muslims to explore the world of STEM.

Through this experience, I have seen the impact outreach can have. A single workshop, conversation, or role model can change how a young person sees themselves and their future. Outreach is about more than delivering events; it is about opening doors, building confidence, and showing young Muslims that they have a place within STEM.

If elected as Vice President of Outreach, I hope to:

  • Expand our reach by strengthening partnerships with schools, youth organisations, and community groups.

  • Deliver impactful programmes that make STEM accessible, exciting, and relevant.

  • Empower volunteers through opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

  • Strengthen the connection between STEM and our Islamic values, reflecting the importance of seeking knowledge, serving others, and striving for excellence.

Having served as both a Fresher Rep and a member of the Outreach stream, I understand the dedication and teamwork required to make our initiatives successful. I am excited to build on the incredible work of previous Outreach teams and continue inspiring the next generation of Muslim scientists, engineers, technologists, and innovators.
