Hi! I’m Ylva, a first-year Biological Sciences student with a passion for neuroscience, particularly the molecular side of neuronal development. Neurotech Society has been a brilliant space to explore the intersection of biology and technology, and I’d love to help it grow as your Outreach Officer. I will ensure unique events by connecting the Society with professional speakers, organisations, and sponsors. As a biology student, I’m keen to bring in more voices from the molecular and biological side of neurotech – showing students across all science disciplines that this society is also for them, not just engineers (though absolutely engineers too!).
On the sponsorship front, I plan to target biotech and medtech companies with a natural stake in neurotech, from startups to established firms, and build structured partnership pitches that connect their interests to what we are building. The goal is not just to maintain existing relationships but to actively grow them into opportunities students can genuinely benefit from.
I also bring hands-on experience working with external organisations from my time as an Executive Exchange Manager at AIESEC, where co-operating across institutions taught me how to communicate, follow through, and sustain these relationships. Beyond obtaining extensive experience in managing, I enjoy public speaking and socialising with people - both crucial in being Outreach Officer.
In a society ranging from regular talks to international hackathons, I am genuinely passionate about expanding what’s possible for our students and helping make Imperial Neurotechnology a leading name in the neurotech community.
