Kuzey Korel

I'm Kuzey, a 2nd Year Joint Maths & Computing student, currently working on research projects in partnership with Google DeepMind, and I'm running for AI Research Lead.

Before that, I spent months as a research engineer at Beckn, and I'm currently building an AI research startup in stealth, on top of eight years of tutoring on the side.

As AI Research Lead, my focus will be:

1. Closed-door sessions with frontier researchers, starting with Google DeepMind and expanding to more frontier labs as the network grows. The kind of small room where you can actually ask things.
2. Free compute and credits, including API credits from labs like Anthropic and OpenAI alongside GPU compute through sponsor programmes, because cost should not be the reason your idea does not get tested.
3. The Build, a programme where term-long teams ship real projects on whatever is live right now, from agents and fine-tuning to multimodal and anything else you actually want to build. Teams are mixed-level, mentored, and open to anyone, and we finish with a demo day in front of researchers and founders, where the strongest work gets routed into UROPs, AI startup internships, and lab introductions through my network.

London is becoming the centre of AI, and Imperial students should be inside that scene, not next to it. Vote Kuzey!
