We all have the same worry in the back of our minds: what comes after we are done with the degree? I heard this countless times listenning to your feedback as your academic rep this year.

We all want the same thing: more chances to meet people in industry, more pathways into internships and research, more of a sense that Imperial is actively opening doors for us – not just teaching us and sending us out blind.

That’s exactly what this role is for, and why I want it. I am standing for Academic Events & Opportunities Officer because I believe our cohort deserves a fuller picture of where a Medical Bioscienes degree can take you. Career fairs, industry guests, internship pipelines – these events need someone willing to reach out, follow-up and make sure organisations have us on their radar. I have experience doing professional outreach and know what it takes to fight for a response.

But more importantly, I have gotten to know this cohort. A year as your rep I heard firsthand what you’re actually looking for through the feedback you have trusted me with.

I would love the chance to take that further and spend the next year building opportunities for you.
