Hi, I’m Ella and I’m running to (hopefully) become your Sponsorship Officer!

As we all know, BMB is a course with so much untapped potential and I strongly believe that obtaining sponsorship is something that has never really been built up properly within bmbsoc. Within this role, I want to help create a stronger foundation so that sponsorship becomes more useful for students but also for future committees too.

Over the last few years, I’ve had the chance to make connections through university, events, internships and outreach, and I’d really like to use these to benefit BMB students. Within this role, I aim to reach out to relevant companies, alumni and organisations in biosciences, healthcare, research and industry, all with the primary goal of helping to make BMB feel more connected beyond just the course itself.

If elected, I aim to:

1. Build long-term connections with the future in mind, not just one-off sponsorships
2. Use sponsorship to make events better and more affordable, especially socials, careers events and academic opportunities
3. Bring in more external opportunities, such as talks, networking and career resources.
4. Leave the role stronger than I found it, with a framework future committees can actually use.

For me, sponsorship is not just about simply obtaining money, it is about making BMB feel more ambitious, more connected and more valuable for students.
