Eloise Pearce
Imperial Ceilidh Society: Musician Manager
Hey everyone!
As we all know, a ceilidh without good music is, well, lacking. I am here to make sure ICU ceilidhs continue being a super fun, culturally enriching event with awesome music.
How, you may ask?
- Allowing all who would like to participate to join
- Having a fun but productive focus during rehearsals (and pub after of course!)
- Hosting workshops for those new to folk music
My musical experience:
I have been playing trad music for just under 6 years, including being a member of the National Youth Folk Ensemble, teaching folk music for the English Folk Song and Dance society and runing my own trad folk music session on Acton. I really enjoy being a creative facilitator and have experience running a range of musical groups for adults.
I firmly believe that anyone should be able to play trad British folk, no matter your background. I would love as many people as possible to find the joy I do in playing trad music!
I’ve been having a whale of a time in Denmark this last year participating in the Copenhagen University folk dance society as a player, which has made me think we can make playing more fun with broader repertoire, more snacks and playing by ear.
This year, I’d like to focus on inter university folk music events, including a multi-cultural folk music and dance event, and bigger jams with LMS.
So, please vote for me if you value nice music to your dancing!
