Prototyping and Hacking Society: Vice President

I’m Kavi Arora, a first-year Design Engineering student, and I’m running for Vice President of the Prototyping and Hacking Society.

I joined ProtoSoc because I love building things. Whether it’s a personal project, a hackathon idea, or coursework, I enjoy taking an idea from a rough sketch to a working prototype. Over the past year, ProtoSoc has been one of the most rewarding societies I’ve been involved with at Imperial. The skills I’ve learnt, from soldering circuits to designing PCBs in KiCad, have been invaluable not only in my course but also in hackathons and personal projects.

What I can uniquely bring to ProtoSoc is a Design Engineering perspective. In Design Engineering, we learn how to turn ideas into real, impactful solutions by understanding a problem, generating and evaluating ideas, building prototypes, testing them with users, and continuously improving them through iteration.

I want to bring more of this mindset into ProtoSoc. The society already does an excellent job of teaching technical skills; I want to help members connect those skills together into complete projects. Be it a hackathon concept, a startup idea, a passion project, or a solution to a real-world problem, I want ProtoSoc to be a place where members can develop ideas from concept to prototype.

My goal is simple: help more members leave ProtoSoc not just with new technical skills, but with the confidence, experience, and projects to show what they can create.

Vote Kavi for Vice President — let's turn more ideas into reality.
