Computational Biology: Industry Liaison Officer
Hey Everyone!

I’m an exchange year biochemistry student and CompBio lover who will be returning to Imperial for my final year this autumn.
I am keen to use my breadth of computational biology industry experience and passion for an engaging computational biology community to create insightful and event packed year for Computational Biology Society 2026-2027!

One thing I would like to achieve as industry liaison officer is creating events focused on the day-to-day tasks of an industrial computational biologist.
Prior to starting university, I worked at MedTech company LIO as a research software engineer and have subsequently completed an internship at Esox Biologics in bioinformatics and metagenomics. I know software roles can seem mystifying to life scientists would really like to create role transparency for students interested in computational biology focused careers.
I am also keen for the society to become more involved in initiatives which support women in software focused roles.
I have been inspired by the student approach to academic societies at University of Copenhagen where stimulating, career focused events co-exist with fun; I hope I can bring this sentiment to the society.
I am experienced working with ICU to organise events from prior committee positions in Ceilidh Society, LMS and e.quinox.

Fun Facts:
Favourite Language: Python 🐍
Currently Learning: C++ 💫
I’m interested in upcycling electronics in my free time ♻️

In short, vote for me if you would like an industry liaison officer with industry contacts willing to work hard to create awesome CompBio industrial events!
