Assalamu’Alaykum everyone,
My name is Yusuf, and I am running to be your Year 2 Coordinator!
Having experienced Year 2 myself, I understand how challenging it can be. The jump from Year 1 is often underestimated, and this is not only because of the increased volume of content, but also balancing placements, LMAP, anatomy, and life outside of medicine all at the same time. I know firsthand how overwhelming this can feel, which is why I want to ensure future Year 2 students feel supported throughout the year.
If elected, I will continue building on the excellent work already established by delivering high-quality tutorials and mock exams that are so beneficial to students. In particular, I would love to strengthen the welfare support within MM, ensuring students feel supported both academically and personally throughout the year. I would also love to explore outreach opportunities so that we leave medical school not only with just a degree, but with a stronger sense of service to our wider community.
Alongside this, I have experiences across BADG & Freshers Fortnights’ subcommittee and also being MaaMonth Head where we raised over £10,000 Subhan’Allah! These roles have strengthened my leadership, organisation & ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities whilst maintaining a consistent revision schedule.
