Vihaan Balakrishnan
Hi, I'm Vihaan, and I'm going into my 3rd Year studying Mech Eng. I'm running to be Head of Education and Competitions, and my goal is to create an enjoyable learning experience for any Imperial student interested in a career in finance, one that stands out from all other finance societies in the UK.
Why me: I've been through the process - spring weeks, a 2027 summer offer at BlackRock, and consulting work alongside my Engineering degree. I know what recruiters look for, and I want to help members get there faster than I did.
My aim: To make Imperial Finance Society's Education and Competitions programme more structured, ambitious, and genuinely useful for members pursuing finance careers.
What I'll focus on
- Clear technical foundations - valuation, markets, and financial modelling taught properly
- Stock pitch preparation and application workshops with real, actionable feedback
- Launch internal competitions that genuinely build skill - a stock pitch league, structured rounds, professional judgement and feedback with lucrative rewards to attract more participants and improve the society's standards.
- Better preparation for external competitions, so Imperial competes seriously at a national level
- High-quality industry speakers from finance, asset management, and consulting, without relying only on older students
I'll bring a practical, organised approach to making this role count for members who are serious about breaking into finance.
