Zoe Ireland

I am Zoë Ireland, and I am running for social secretary of the Imperial College Polo Club. I joined Polo in autumn and it has become the highlight of my year. Not only was it an amazing way to continue riding and learning a new sport, but it is where i have met the most amazing people both in and outside of the arena. I believe that ICPC is a fantastic way to meet other riders within Imperial and within the London Polo community.

As social secretary I would hope to increase our team spirit, by organizing a wide range of social events througout the calendar to celebrate the achievements of our own team and riders. To encourage riders to push themselves and try new things, I would love to hold an awards night at the end of the summer term to celebrate individual growth and talent.

In order to ensure we are including all members as much as possible, early in the autumn term I would love to start surveying members to learn more about what events they would like to see included in our calendar, as well as organizing daytime events such as polo watch parties and race days for the team. I would also love to plan more informal socials with other IC societies and more end of term team dinners to welcome new members.

I would be honoured to serve as social secretary to help contribute to our amazing committee.
