Sameer Gupta

Hey! I'm Sameer, a first-year Computer Science student, and I'm running for Bands Manager!

Bands has honestly been one of the highlights of my first year at Imperial. From performing at events throughout the year to simply having a space where I could keep playing music alongside my degree, the society has given me some lifelong memories and introduced me to some amazing musicians and friends, and that's why I couldn't be more excited to lead this incredible group of people next term.

If elected, I'd love to help make Bands even bigger and more diverse. I want to encourage more genres and experimental projects, whether that's fusion, indie, funk, original compositions, metal, or something that doesn't even fit in a category! I'd also love to introduce a variety of different instruments because great music comes in all forms!

I'd like to organise more opportunities to perform, whether that's regular gigs, pub nights, cafe performances, or other smaller events that give bands a chance to play in front of people more often. There must be something going on at every point in time! And of course, cannot forget about the CRAZY SOCIALS, because bands are about the people just as much as the music.
