Sayanen Sawmynaden

Hi everyone,

I’m Sayanen, a second-year medical student, and I’m applying to be the Gazette’s Clubs and Societies Editor.

ICSM societies have been a huge part of my university experience. I’ve been actively involved in a wide range of clubs, including rowing, badminton (including tour!), Surgical Society, Neuro Society, and many others. Through these experiences, I’ve gained an appreciation for the diversity of opportunities available within ICSM and would be excited to help showcase them through the Gazette. I believe this broad involvement would allow me to bring a balanced and informed perspective when reviewing and editing submissions from different societies.

In addition, I have substantial writing experience, having published over eight articles and won the Interview category of the Young Reporter Competition. These experiences have strengthened my writing, editing, and communication skills, which I would use to ensure that articles are engaging, accurate, and of a high standard.

As Clubs and Societies Editor, I hope to help increase awareness of the fantastic activities taking place across ICSM and encourage more students to get involved in the vibrant societies community.
