Leroy Akeru

Hello my name is Leroy and I am running for main show and 24 backstage manager. You may know me from fly operating last main show and backstage managing 24 (and hopefully not from my rap at UH Revue); 2025-2026 was my first year in light opera and the number 1 lesson I learnt has to be just how foolish it was to not have joined opera earlier.

Being able to help produce musicals in such fun company was a highlight of autumn and summer term and I hope to help them run smoothly hidden in the wings for another year!

My experience backstage managing 24 has taught me the broad strokes of what the role entails and I'm ready to learn the differences/intricacies that come with mainshow.

Having done flies I am aware of the balance between ensuring a smooth and speedy scene transition for the audience's immersion while also making certain that the cast and crew can trust you to ascertain the stage is clear for the sake of their safety - that is a responsibility I am ready for.

In summary it's a privilege to pee (the backstage manager for mainshow and 24) and so I hope you vote me in (and don't RON me for that joke).
