Kajani Jeevananthan

Hi, I'm Kajani and I'm currently a Second Year Biochemistry student running for the Treasurer position for the Women in SET society!

As an active member of the society and having attended multiple insight and networking events hosted by the society, I've been inspired to hear and talk to talented women professionals about their career journeys and confidence in women. This has enlightened me to transgress from a STEM background into finance, where I think taking on a Treasurer role will allow me to deepen this inspiration further.

As Treasurer, I will take responsibility over finances including sponsorships and have a consistent, integrated contribution to the other roles of the society. I will ensure that the budgeting is managed well and also scavenge for other fundraising opportunities to make the most out of the events! In my previous role as Head of Sponsorship at Imperial Tamil Society, I raised over £5,000 in sponsorships alongside a team so I understand the importance of negotiation and ensuring that funding is distributed in an organised and effective manner.

If elected as Treasurer, I will work closely with the commitee and ensure finances are tracked accordingly to plan more insightful and successful events!
