Hello gorgeous opera,

I have spent 3 years in opera so far, and have held committee positions across all of our different committee streams, so I know how opera operates.

From my position as main producer this year, I have gained much understanding into how union works, including risk assessments, drop in sessions, and more.

One of my priorities as secretary would be to place a strong focus on the academic support that opera offers

Ideas:

- Early conversations to find out what support people would like

- Organise tutoring schemes for CPA / OSCE

- More assistance for freshers, including a possible 'med school advice' yap session at one of our early rehearsals

- Advertise and develop the opera notebank

I would also like to further the work we've already done this year to integrate the different streams of opera in an organised way, and I believe my experience working in arts & backstage will enable this.

- Working closely with the publicity officer on show promotion and stash

- Continuing the work this year with regular check-in meetings and discussion forms to be constantly improving the society

- Creating an opera calendar to organise everything in the same place so that everyone knows WHAT is happening and WHEN (including show dates, academic mocks, big chills, socials)

Finally, I would work closely with the rest of executive committee, ensuring that I am always available for when opera calls.

Also, the society emails will go so hard.
