Qasim Khan

Muslim Medics: Treasurer

Assalamualaikum, my name is Qasim and I am running for Treasurer to transform Muslim Medics. into something greater this year. I am not only committed to improving resource allocation within the society, but also to using this to aid the running of even more events throughout the year.

I bring experience to this role, as I already have an appreciation for the internal workings of Muslim Medics. For instance, through my role as Freshers Representative over the past year, I have been actively involved in facilitating the PotMed Spring Conference. Through this, I have gained key insights into the organisation, communication and time-management required, and have developed these skills accordingly. Moreover, I played an active role in running the inaugural Muslim Medics Conference, where I helped draft workshops from scratch. This has allowed me to demonstrate and further improve my coordination with the existing Muslim Medics committee. Therefore, leveraging this, alongside my ties with the student body, I aim to ensure that Muslim Medics can meaningfully integrate with other societies to further expand our impact.

This role will also build on my previous experience of running my school's Science Week, where I already managed a budget while running well-received events for 500+ students.

Muslim Medics has the potential to benefit many medical students, while simultaneously transforming the journeys of aspiring medical students. With me as your Treasurer, you can expect meaningful use of the privileges and resources we have been given as a society, as well as a measurable impact.
