Muslim Medics: President

MM is not only an Academic society - community and faith are at the root of all we do. As Co-presidents our ultimate aim is to maintain and strengthen this sense of community, making sure MM remains a cornerstone of our community here at Imperial.

This year, PotMed expanded beyond application support and next year we aim to solidify this growth through:

  • Establishing The PotMed Pathway Programme, formalising existing initiatives into a structured scheme
  • Liasing with the College Union to reinstate the mentorship scheme
  • Launching PotMed on tour
  • Maintaining cross-university partnerships to increase volunteer engagement

Within Education, we hope to provide support across all year groups through:

  • Y1-2: Introducing a CPA guide, and Continuing and expanding the Tutorial and SBA series
  • Y3: Implementing a tailored teaching series, enhanced BSc guidance, and further OSCE support through the introduction of OSCE Prep days
  • Y4 (BSc): Delivering academic and research-focused support
  • Y5-6: Establishing a comprehensive noteback and Delivering a Senior-led UKMLA/ SBA course

We aim to provide students tailored support across both welfare and career development by:

Outreach/ Welfare

  • Expanding our humanitarian efforts through dedicated conferences and arranging medical volunteering for Final Years
  • Organising a Faculty Iftar to strengthen engagement with faculty and the community alike
  • Implementing more regular welfare initiatives

Careers

  • Upscaling flagship events such as the Muslim Medics Conference and Annual Careers Fair
  • Formalising a structured webinar series targeted towards future careers
  • Establishing an Alumni mentorship scheme for 5th and final year students, and a Research opportunities chat in conjunction with alumni
