EFDS students are built different. We’re not just finance bros, economists or coders, we are the intersection of all three. As your Competitions Officer, my mission is to ensure the rest of Imperial and the UK knows exactly what makes us special.
I’m not here to make generic hackathons or PowerPoint driven business challenges, those aren't competitions; they are participation trophies. As EFDS students, we sit at the most rigorous intersection of quantitative analysis and economic intuition in the country. We don’t need more "participation" events; we need high stakes, high value opportunities that prove our course is the gold standard for the industry.
As your competitions officer I will:
- Establish and maintain direct lines of communication with competition leads at LSE, Oxbridge and UCL. My priority is securing EFDS exclusive entry into the most prestigious national trading simulations and quant focused competitions.
- Filter and curate external invitations to prioritize high stakes, data-intensive challenges over low-value marketing events, ensuring our time is spent on competitions that actually build technical prestige and industry recognition.
- Drive our reputation home through intense inter-society showdowns. From algorithmic betting games to financial forecasting, I’ll ensure EFDS society members have access to the best
- Secure your career edge by targeting events that replicate real-world tasks and skills ensuring your performance serves as a verifiable credential on your CV for internship cycles.
