Hi everyone, I’m Szymon Kwidziński, and I’m running for re-election as your Economics Industry Officer for the EFDS Society.

This year I’ve focused on one thing: making “industry access” actually useful — not just another panel, but real value for EFDS students.

What I’ll keep doing (and do better)

1) More relevant speakers and events

Bringing in people who match what EFDS students actually care about — economics and policy, finance, consulting, data/tech, and research — with practical takeaways, not generic talks.

2) Stronger pipelines, not one-offs

I want to build repeatable relationships with firms and organisations so opportunities don’t depend on luck or last-minute outreach.

3) Practical support alongside inspiration

Events that help you act: how to break into roles, what the recruiting timelines look like, what skills matter, and how to stand out as an EFDS candidate.

4) Better communication and accessibility

Clearer promotion, earlier notice, and formats that work for busy schedules (mix of in-person + online).
